AIDS Walk 2013-in just 3 weeks

Hello friends,

I hope this email finds you well and you are enjoying the nice weather we've been having lately. I wanted to let you know that the AIDS Walk 2013 is only 3 weeks away. In 3 weeks I will be walking along with thousands of people to reach one goal: To find a cure for HIV/AIDS by raising funds and awareness in the community. By raising funds we'll be providing researches and doctors the necessary means to study and produce new therapies, and eventually cures to these diseases. And by walking you'll be making a statement that this is not an issue that only affects the gay community, this is an issue that affects the whole community, and that by coming together we can achieve anything.
Last year my team, Ab Fab for a Cure, raised over $900. Help us and my teammates reach our goal by becoming a donor towards the mission. Or if you have time, come join us on May 19th at Central Park to walk together towards our goal.

To donate please visit my fundraising page, and click on the "Give Now" Button: http://awny2013.kintera.org/jorgellanos

To join the team please visit the team's page, and click on "Join Our Team" button: http://awny2013.kintera.org/abfabforacure
You can also support the team by making a donation on the team page.

Or, if you know of anyone who would be interested in participating please forward this email, and let them know about the team. Spread the word and get the message out there.
I hope you can support me and the team in any way you can. Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,

Jorgie

Help me at this year's AIDS Walk NY

Hello there,

Jorgie here reaching out to you to join me in reaching an extraordinary goal: a world without HIV/AIDS. You may have seen over the past few months articles and news about a functional "cure" to HIV. These stories are developing, but they are true. We are closer than ever to finding the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to this terrible disease. Please take a few minutes to read the following articles to understand these milestones:

ABC News: 14 HIV Patients Have 'Functional Cure'

MSNBC News: A baby now free of HIV has doctors talking about 'cure'

I have been a part of the AIDS Walk for the past 5 years exactly for this reason: to find a cure and eradicate HIV/AIDS, by raising money to fund research, and to provide services for the people that are afflicted by this disease. Won't you join me in this endeavor? Join me by becoming a member of my team, Ab Fab for a Cure, and raise funds along with me; or by helping me reach my goal by making a donation to my fundraising page.

Ab Fab for a Cure team page: http://awny2013.kintera.org/abfabforacure
-you can join the team through the team page. You can also donate to the team if you'd like.

My fundraising page: http://awny2013.kintera.org/jorgellanos
-you can also donate to my personal fundraising page.

There are many other ways to get involved as well: Start your own team, support others who are walking, spread the word, help at your local GLBT center, etc. Hope you are able to support in your own way. If you need help or would like to contact me about the AIDS Walk you can reach me by email or via cellphone.

Get active. Get involved. Every step we take is a step towards a world without HIV/AIDS.

Until a cure is found,

Jorgie
